Got Seats?
We need your help with new seats in The Garden!
The new ownership has been very busy with $1000's of improvements and we could not
be more excited about the future. So many have asked how they can help with the
refurbishment and now we have just the ticket, or more accurately just The Seat.
The Garden has contracted with Irwin Seating of Grand Rapids to provide new seats for
the theater. The picture on this page is not the final version, but a solid representation of
what it might look like. We will have a prototype published within a few weeks.
For a purchase price of $175 you get the old seat from The Garden (if you want it) and
also provide the theater with a brand new one. The plan calls for approximately 300 seats
and will also make space for wheelchairs which currently does not exist.

The F A Q ' S
Why does The Garden need seats?
While the existing seats are not original from
1924 they have been around for some time
and have seen better days.
Can't the existing seats be refurbished?
The seats have been evaluated by professionals and while some could be
refurbished, by in large most seats are beyond realistic saving. Given that
determination, the ownership has made the decision to pursue new seats and will
keep the Art Deco style of the space.
What does the $175 cover?
The price of $175 gets the purchaser the old seat(if wanted), removal of existing
seats, floor preparation and installation of the new seats.
Will the seats have a commemorative plaque?
We decided it was better to save a few dollars per seat and not have individual
commemorative plaques . Once the seat campaign is complete a recognition
inscription of some kind will be hung on the walls of the theater to celebrate those
individuals that share the common goal of restoring life to The Garden.
What's in it for me or for us?
The Frankfort Garden Theater LLC, is technically a for profit business according to
the IRS and therefore purchasing a seat does not provide any tax benefits as would
typically be earned when giving to a non-profit organization. The reality is, that while
we are a for profit business, any profit is not in the foreseeable future as everything
must be funned back into the business. So what's in it for me? A comfortable seat
when watching a performance or film and of course the satisfaction of helping this
gem come back to life.
When will the new seats be installed?
Our intent is to move forward as soon as 75% of the seat campaign has been
secured. If all goes as planned, that could happen as early as this fall. Follow along
on the website to watch the progress of the campaign and make sure we have your
email address on file for periodic updates.
How do I buy a seat?
Easy, send a check made payable to Frankfort Garden Theater LLC, PO Box 694,
Frankfort, MI 49635. Please include your name, address, phone number and email
address in the envelope.
